when no one was "punished" for exploiting the unicorn room glitch, there was an outcry. this time, the exploitation was much greater, and far more widespead, and like the UR situation, people may have been drawn in unawares (i know that i had no idea anything was going on until someone asked me to find out why gifting was down) - and the site found it necessary to take action.
inevitably (we are dealing with a small number of overworked people who must at this point be getting disillusioned with not one but two instances of deliberate glitch exploitation in their short and difficult tenure here), some were nailed that perhaps should not be - and most likely some genuine offenders have been overlooked.
as apparently this has become a sore point onsite - or has become too contentious, or both - the Forum thread has been closed, so we are setting this up as an open venue for discussion.
